New Senior-only DMV opens at Calumet Township Community Center

Calumet Township recently welcomed a new senior service as we hosted the grand opening of the Calumet Township Seniors-only DMV. Supervisor Rita and the Calumet Township Board were joined by Illinois Secretary of State Alexi Giannoulias and other state and local leaders to celebrate the opening of this facility. It is the region’s first seniors-only DMV service center, saving seniors travel and wait time.

These services include the following and more:

  • Address Change
  • Disability Placards
  • Drivers License Services, including REAL ID
  • State ID
  • Non-CDL Road and Written Tests
  • Registration/License Plate Sticker Renewal

This facility is open Monday – Friday from 8 am to 4 pm and does not require appointments. For more information call 800-252-8980 and press 2.

We ended the month of February with a wonderful Black History Program at our community center! As always, we would like to thank Roseland Ceasefire and the Village of Calumet Park for their continued partnership. This week, we honor Dr. Daniel Hale Williams. Dr. Williams was a pioneering African American surgeon renowned for performing one of the first successful open-heart surgeries in 1893. A trailblazer in the medical field, he founded the first non-segregated hospital in the United States. Provident Hospital was dedicated to providing quality care and training to African American physicians.
